Cowboy Bebop-skaparen: "Stod inte ut med Netflix-adaptionen"

Anime-världen har hittat sin plats hos Netflix, men detsamma kan inte sägas om streamingjättens adaptioner av de älskade japanska klassikerna och nyversionen Cowboy Bebop hör ännu till ett av formatets mest sågade alster. En av de som inte stod ut med Netflix vandalisering var Cowboy Bebop-pappan Shinichirō Watanabe själv, som nyligen berättade i en intervju med Forbes att han stängde av bara några minuter in i Netflix-adaptionen:

"For the new Netflix live-action adaptation, they sent me a video to review and check. It started with a scene in a casino, which made it very tough for me to continue. I stopped there and so only saw that opening scene."

"It was clearly not Cowboy Bebop. I realized at that point that if I wasn't involved, it would not be Cowboy Bebop. I felt that maybe I should have done this. Although the value of the original anime is somehow far higher now."

Strax efter live action-seriens premiär valde Netflix att lägga ner Cowboy Bebop, vilket förmodligen var det kloka beslutet. Vad tyckte du om Netflix-versionen av Cowboy Bebop?
